Simon Neate

Simon was one of the founders of the company in 1986 and now as executive chairman he continues to lead Indigo Planning's development.

Simon has worked on projects in all parts of the UK, Ireland and in France, many of them relating to large-scale and complex development proposals. He has provided expert witness evidence for the High Court at public inquiries and hearings and has appeared in public examinations.

Simon has directed research on planning matters for the government and has given evidence to a select parliamentary committee. Simon has also directed projects, including feasibility studies and development strategies, for many public sector clients.

Principal areas of work currently include:
  • Urban extensions -The promotion of strategic sites through local development frameworks and planning applications in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire.
  • Mixed-use projects - Including the redevelopment of the eight hectare ex-Hewlett Packard site in Reading, where residential and other uses are proposed.
  • Asset management of investment properties - Negotiating alterations to earlier planning consents, additional floor space and the removal of constraints on operations.
  • Development of specialist buildings - Including a number of new health care centres and tourism and leisure projects.
