Sean McGrath
Sean is a Director at Indigo and has been with the company since 2002. He has over 18 years of professional experience having previously worked for the Town Planning Consultancy and more recently Drivers Jonas.
He has a wide range of experience in planning and development related work for both public and private sector clients. He has experience of advising on the development potential of proposal sites, appraising planning policies, negotiating with officers and preparing evidence for planning appeal inquiries.
Sean's expertise includes large scale retail, leisure and business park projects, economic assessment of retail and leisure proposals, Environmental Impact Assessment, development of football stadia, major urban regeneration projects and residential development on brownfield and greenfield sites.
Principal projects include:
- Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire - Advising the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) on the planning strategy to deliver the Olympic and legacy white water canoe course in Hertfordshire.
- Pickett's Lock, Enfield - Negotiation and obtained consent for a Regional Athletics Centre with external facilities within the Green Belt.
- Charlton Athletic Football Club - Sean worked on various projects for Charlton Athletic Football Club, including obtaining planning consent for a new East Stand for The Valley and improvements to the Club's training ground.
- Dartford, Kent - Promoted a disused chalk pit for residential development through the review of the Dartford Local Plan. The site is 8.5ha (21 acres) within the urban area and will allow the development of a sustainable community of 1,000 units, plus associated facilities.
- Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd - Retained by Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd to provide planning advice on their property interests including site appraisals, planning applications and appeals throughout East of England.
