Mixed-use: Saighton Camp

Saighton Camp, Chester

Located within the urban area of Chester to the south of the A55, Saighton Camp is a former Army Medical Training Centre which extends to approximately 40Ha and comprises former army barracks, hospital buildings, parade grounds and playing fields. The site is brownfield and capable of accommodating significant new growth to meet Chester's future development requirements.

Since 2004, Indigo has been working closely with Chester City Council, Cheshire County Council, the Highways Agency and Government Office North West in promoting mixed-use redevelopment along with a new link road onto the A55. Indigo has been working with a full project team to prepare an overall masterplan for the site which addresses local highways and environmental issues.

Consent was initially negotiated for 103 residential units on a part of the site that are under construction and an outline planning application and accompanying Environmental Statement has been submitted for the next phase of development.
