Health and planning in the West Midlands

Indigo Briefing Note 12
MORE

Indigo has released the first stage of its research into the requirement for health impact assessments as a part of planning policy across the UK’s major cities.

The research reveals a clear trend in both strategic and local planning policy towards greater reliance on health impact assessments (HIAs) to support major planning applications.

Indigo undertook research into the HIA requirements of the seven West Midlands local planning authorities during October and November 2017. The research reviewed the health related planning policies of each local planning authority, as well as the Black Country Core Strategy.
