Helen Greenhalgh
Helen is a chartered town planner and is one of the firm's Directors with over 11 years' experience in the private sector. Helen runs the company's West End office.
Helen has a key role in advising on a broad range of projects including development projects, environmental impact assessments and promoting strategic sites through the development plan process.
Helen advises clients, including developers, fund managers, house builders, landowners and financial institutions, in mixed-use, residential, commercial and retail projects.
Helen is experienced in appearing as an expert planning witness at public inquiries and also undertaking hearings. Helen has particular interest in the statutory planning framework.
Principal projects include:
- Larden Road, Acton - A major mixed-use development of 450 residential units, a GP surgery, offices and workshops on a former factory site including pre and post application negotiations with the local planning authority (LPA). This also involves consultations with local politicians and residents' groups and project management of environmental impact assessment.
- Cambridge Yard, Hanwell - Redevelopment of a former employment site for 160 affordable residential units and offices. Lengthy negotiations with the LPA on the principle of development together with the form and detailed design of the scheme. Project management of consultant team and preparation of planning statement, access statement and sustainability appraisal.
- Harlow, Essex - Advising a major fund manager on strategy for redeveloping site for a major employment proposal comprising warehousing and light industrial units. Planning permission secured after extensive negotiations with the LPA and local residents.
