Doug Hann
Doug is a Director at Indigo Planning and has been with the company since 2001.
Doug has a wide range of experience in advising on development projects throughout the UK, including major strategic sites, mixed-use schemes, residential, commercial and listed building developments.
Doug has experience at all levels of appeal and has appeared as expert witness at S78 and local plan inquiries. Doug has prepared environmental statements and advised on environmental impact assessment development.
Recent projects include:
- Saighton Camp, Chester - Advising on the long term strategic development of an 32 hectare (80 acre) former army camp at the edge of Chester, promoting the site through RSS, the Chester LDF and in due course planning applications. The site is envisaged for around 1,000 houses and 50,000 sq.ft of employment, with open space. Liaison with the City, and County Councils, local MP and ministers in Whitehall to gain political support for the scheme and a new road link to the A55.
- Lucas Sports Ground, Brierfield - On behalf of Barnfield Construction Indigo achieved a mixed residential, employment, sports and community facility consent on a former sports ground site that had previously been refused for residential use by the Secretary of State.
- Millennium City Park, Preston - Advising on the development of former sports fields for a significant business park with new warehousing, offices, car showrooms, and industrial units.
- Hayes Road, Cadishead - Acquiring consent for 300 houses and public open space on a former chemical works for Clariant.
- Albion Works, Congleton - Advising landowners on a major residential led mixed redevelopment of the former chemical works for housing, employment and community facilities.
